Allied Community is a business development agency serving entrepreneurs, nonprofits, faith-based organizations, and underserved communities across the United States and internationally.
We founded the agency on a simple belief: good business guidance should not depend on your budget or your zip code. That is why every service has a self-paced and an agency-supported option.
Katrina Nweke is the founder of Allied Community. Known as Katrina Faulkner-Brown, Katrina Nweke is a United States Army veteran who served in the military from 2006-2009, in Iraq from 2007 to 2008 as a public affairs journalist (46Q) with the 4th Brigade, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), based out of Fort Polk, Louisiana. In 1994, she published a community development magazine on the Mississippi Gulf Coast called Progress Magazine. Soon after, she established her first business development agency, Market It!, to help small businesses grow on a budget. She then partnered with Thinribbons.com for 15 years as its marketing director and partner, helping the company grow exponentially into a multi-million dollar operation until 2014.
Katrina earned a bachelor’s degree in business with a minor in workforce development and marketing, followed by a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in project management. Both degrees are from William Carey University, headquartered in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She was certified as a military journalist by Defense Information School (DINFOS) (opens in a new tab) at Fort Meade, Maryland in 2007.
Her work has also taken her into government and international service. She worked as a NATO contractor in Kabul, Afghanistan, as a Foreign Media Advisor and DVIDS Maintainer during General David Petraeus’s leadership. She served as a graduate health communications specialist with the National Center for Health Statistics (CDC) (opens in a new tab) in Hyattsville, Maryland, and in 2022 spent a year as a patent processor in a newly established department of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (opens in a new tab).
Katrina also created the Allied Community Empowerment Institute to support people in nations and places that need low-cost education opportunities, so they can work remotely in a global economy of unlimited business, contract, and freelance possibilities.
“Your business deserves a foundation, a brand, a plan, funding, and a voice. We help you build all five.”
